The jewellery size guide
Measure wrists, compare necklace lengths and understand ring sizing, with a printable wrist strip and a bracelet planning assistant.
Measure the person or a well-fitting piece before comparing a size chart. Then check what the seller’s number actually describes: total length, wearable length, internal diameter or a size code.
Bracelet measurements
- Use a flexible measuring tape, or a narrow strip of paper and a ruler.
- Wrap it around the intended wearing position without compressing the skin. Keep it level rather than twisted.
- Record the measurement and repeat it. Keep the wrist relaxed.
- Identify the exact bracelet design. Read its own sizing instructions and confirm whether any allowance is already included in the chart.
- Consider the proposed charm arrangement and try the piece if possible.
Our bracelet fit assistant combines your measurement with an allowance you supply from the maker’s instructions. It does not select an allowance on behalf of every bracelet brand.
Download the A4 wrist measuring sheet. Print at 100% or Actual size, with page scaling disabled. Measure the printed 100 mm calibration line with a reliable ruler before cutting or using the strip. If it is not exactly 100 mm, use a tape measure instead. The strip runs to 24 cm; a wrist outside that range needs a longer tape.
Bangles need different checks
A closed bangle must pass over the hand. Measuring only the wrist is not enough. Use the maker’s method for hand clearance and check whether the listing describes a circular diameter, an oval’s dimensions or its circumference. A hinged bangle opens around the wrist, so its fitting method can differ again.
Do not convert a flexible-bracelet recommendation into a closed-bangle size. The products solve different fitting problems.
Necklace lengths
Measure a necklace laid straight and unclasped, including the fastening. For a pendant, record its drop separately and check whether the product’s advertised length includes an extension. The necklace-length guide helps you compare these dimensions with what you already wear.
Ring sizing
The most reliable route for an important purchase is a fitting with suitable ring gauges. Paper and string can stretch, compress or twist; printed circles depend on print scaling. Treat a home result as a preliminary estimate and use the seller’s exact chart. Read ring sizing without false precision.
A useful record to keep
Write down the measurement, units, body position or reference piece, date and proposed product. Keep raw measurements separate from the size you order. That distinction makes a later exchange much easier to discuss.
